Position Title: Prevention Program

POSITION
SUMMARY:
The Youth Connection is looking for a
Prevention Program Facilitator who will work with the community to provide assistance in the coordination of the I2D2-Fit ‘N’ Fun Family Club and various substance abuse prevention programs.
This person would be responsible for working with youth of all ages and their parents or caregivers to provide nutrition and education training along with substance abuse prevention services in
elementary schools, local churches, businesses, and community facilities. Also, this person would ensure that the programs adhere to the agenda and guidelines already established. In addition, the
facilitator will also follow up with participants to make sure they will be present and input data after the close of each session. The Facilitator would also work with the SUD Asst. Director to
carry out the annual summer Ticket to Float program – a program that exposes groups of youth in Metropolitan Detroit to kayaking in the summer. Finally, the employee in the position will work closely
with the SUD Asst. Director to establish a development plan to gain MCBAP prevention credentials within 2 years of employment and collaborate with other core staff to carry out goals and objectives
of all of our Prevention Programming.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES:
- Facilitate and organize weekly
Fit ‘N’ Fun Family Clubs and other prevention programs
- Assist in inputting data from
program into databases
- Be responsible for
dissemination of material on healthy eating and lifestyles as well as substance abuse prevention to providers, targeted parents, families and community
- Facilitate all responsibilities
for the Ticket to Float program including recruitment, scheduling, coordination of groups, and program execution.
- Represent TYC at prevention
program related meetings and functions as directed
- Attend program related, staff
and board meetings, as required; and
- Assist with TYC sponsored
events, as needed.
- Perform other duties as may be
assigned by supervisor or the President and CEO.

POSITION
SUMMARY:
Establish and maintain activities
to develop, locate and secure jobs, internships, apprenticeships, secondary education opportunities and training for TYCCA youth. Able to interact with corporations, businesses, youth.
Interact with TYC partner organizations, corporations, businesses, youth and community-based organizations to provide workforce development opportunities, career and college fairs and college tours.
Coordinate work readiness skills training and follow-up services for youth. Work collaboratively with the TYCCA Team and TYC Staff to meet and exceed contract requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES:
- Initiate and maintain ongoing
personal contacts with a variety of business and industry representatives and job placement/training agencies to promote programs for participant placement and identify training
opportunities
- Conduct scheduled and
drop-in visits and cold calls to potential employers explaining the benefits and employment support services provided by TYCCA to employers
- Locate jobs for eligible
participants based on their career goals and competencies.
- Work closely with Case
Management Youth Advisors to determine career needs, goals and opportunities.
- Collect data from employers
related to positions including job requirements and skills
- Refer qualified youth to
employers and conduct all necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions
- Keep updated regarding job
fairs and internet resources
- Participate in outreach and
recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs, college fairs and college tours
- Ability to identify and
secure training sites for participants
- Work with Case management
Youth Advisors and youth to assess participant’s interest and aptitudes and provide job coaching. Maintain consistent monitoring to recognize potential
problem areas and identify possible solutions and resources to assist with their needs to be successful in their career and education choices

protocols regarding TYC Clients, programs and services.

Position: The Youth Connection Career Academies (TYCCA) Case Management Youth
Advisor
Reports To: TYCCA Division Director
Job Type: Full-Time
The TYCCA Case Management Youth Advisors will provide case management services to TYCCA youth to
ensure their needs are met to promote successful outcomes and program completion. Case Management Youth Advisors will coordinate and provide life skills development, career planning, coaching and
supportive services. These services can include but not limited to assistance with housing, food, child care, transportation, mental health support and referrals. The primary goal is to
help participants, find and obtain job related resources, post-secondary education opportunities and supportive services.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide orientation to youth on the
services and eligibility requirements
- Assist clients with determining
eligibility, registering, and accessing community and social service needs. Provide transportation as necessary for clients (either directly or indirectly) to ensure clients are able to take
advantage of needed services and all required program activities.
- Maintain at least twice a month
contact with assigned youth making additional contact as needed to ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting.
- Ensure youth participate in life
skills and other trainings and workshops to develop the skills necessary to achieve economic independence and effective life skill management.
- Work with Job Developer to assess
client skills and interests to provide career planning, post-secondary education opportunities, and job placement assistance.
- Assist with site monitoring of
summer job placements and participate in various field trips, group outings, etc.
- Conduct worksite visits as required
for program compliance.
- Provide 12 month follow-up support
to assist clients as needed in maintaining self-sufficiency after completing career academies programs and services.
- Develop and
maintain contacts with community organizations and educational institutions, making TYCCA presentations for the purpose of outreach, recruitment, and securing opportunities for TYCCA
youth.
- Maintain accurate, up to date
client files.

Position: Data Management
Specialist
Reports To: TYCCA Program Director
Job Type: Full-Time
POSITION
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the planning and
implementation of all data collection, analysis, and dissemination activities of the TYCCA program. Work closely with the Program Manager to improve and establish effective systems and processes for
collecting data and information as it relates to TYCCA programs as well as OSMIS, Launch Pad and Pyndex related functions to ensure that this data is
accurate, and accessible. These services include, but are not limited to, attendance tracking, data mining,
tracking performance outcomes to help ensure program compliance, designing databases for specific client use and training clients and staff in the use of
data storage and retrieval systems, databases, and software management tools. Provide high-level program support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, handling information requests,
data input and management, processing program enrollments, exits, training assignments and other data related functions. Assist with training and facilitation as needed for program participants and
staff on various topics including, but not limited to data entry, coding, and resume building. Works in coordination with all TYCCA programs and community partners. Responsible for all email and mass
communication distribution to youth, parents, and program partners, as assigned. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to connect with youth, young
adults, and parents where appropriate. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook and other technology
procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES:
- Execute all regular
transaction processes necessary to maintain program records and databases such as extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications to measure program performance, conduct
program evaluations, and provide data to assist with presentations, program development, monthly program reports, and presentations, as needed.
- Manage databases
for TYCCA related programming, manage data and entry for Pyndex, Launch Pad and OSMIS through data validation and document verification, and entering and tracking client attendance/timesheets,
demographic information, and completing and submitting program enrollments, youth goals, activities and program exits for all TYCCA programs (i.e. WIOA, Soar, GDYT, etc.).
- Track program data
to help ensure services provided demonstrate measurable progress and attainment of expected performance outcomes and work with contract compliance department to provide data as needed for contractual
and program compliance.
- Perform the
collection, analysis, and dissemination of all program data and information, and complete/launch TYC Apricot data management system currently in development.
- Perform data
analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis, audit program and client data on a regular basis to ensure data integrity and quality; and assist with ongoing data architecture
processes and governance.
- Train TYC staff and
program participants on data systems, and assist in implementation, testing, and validating data and software systems.
- Perform data quantitative and qualitative analysis, assist in preparation of data reports, training
materials, business presentations, publications, marketing collaterals, and other educational materials.
- Assist with
facilitating client employability and life skills training as needed.

Assist with client enrollment as
it relates to intake/eligibility, orientation/information sessions, and document collection, to help maintain accurate, up to date client database and files.
- Assist with site monitoring of summer job placements and attend various field trips, group outings, etc.
- Assist with
promoting program and recruiting participants, referrals, intake and enrollment processes
- Assist with client
follow-up to assist clients as needed in maintaining self-sufficiency after receiving services to measure outcomes.
- Perform a variety of tasks, as needed, to help improve the lives of all TYCCA clients and participants.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

flexible hours including late evenings, weekends, on-call, and occasional overnights.

transportation and willing to travel within the cities TYC serves, using personal vehicle.
- Must provide State
of Michigan I-CHAT background clearance, DHHS Central Registry clearance, and local police clearance. Federal clearances may also be required and State of Michigan Sex Offender
Registry.
REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
- Experience in
developing major data collection and maintenance systems
- Thorough
understanding of computer systems, software and data reporting systems
- Must possess some
knowledge of child welfare, social services system, youth workforce development, and rules and regulations regarding the management of cases, specifically WIOA targeted youth
populations.
- Must have a
knowledge of administrative and technology procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other program procedures and
terminology.
- Must be able to
manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner and utilize time management skills to organize and prioritize work to meet program deadlines and desired
outcomes.
- Must possess
excellent verbal communication and writing skills with knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and
grammar.
- Must have computer
skills to prepare documents and presentations, maintain various databases, spreadsheets, to track program data/outcomes, and search for information on the internet.
- Must possess strong
knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be highly
organized and have great attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a
timely manner
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience working in computer science, information science or data science, along with experience working in a
child welfare, workforce development, or a professional human services environment.
Required
Experience:
Demonstrated experience managing
data within a human services agency, youth, or community-based organization. Must have experience with data entry, database development and in carrying out the kinds of tasks and duties assigned to
this position.
Licenses or
Certificates: Valid unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License and provide proof of vehicle registration and auto insurance
required.
